<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the motion vector detection circuit in which number of processor elements is reduced than that of a conventional circuit so as to make the circuit scale small. SOLUTION: The circuit is provided with processor elements 1-4 that provide an output of a row difference evaluation value between one row in the horizontal direction of a current block and one row in the horizontal direction of a reference object block, the processor elements are configured to be a feedback loop configuration where an output of the processor element at a final stage is given to the processor element at a first stage so as to accumulate the row difference evaluation values, and the detection circuit has an FIFO 55 that stores a stub block difference evaluation value between a sub block of the current block and a sub block of the corresponding reference block object and obtained on the way of calculation and has a subtractor 56 that subtracts the sub-block difference evaluation value from the block difference evaluation value.</p> |
