A detergent composition suitable for use in laundry or dish washing methods comprises (a) a quaternary ammonium cationic surfactant; and (b) a hydrophobic organic peroxyacid bleaching system, capable of providing a hydrophobic organic peroxyacid compound. The groups attached to the quaternary ammonium nitrogen may be C 6-11 alkyl, hydroxyethyl or hydroxypropyl, and two C 1-4 alkyl groups. |
