Cigarette formation testing method

The testing method uses light beams for checking the positions of the cigarette ends, for verifying the required cigarette configuration and for detecting missing cigarettes. The light beams for scanning the cigarette ends in at least one row are off-centre to the cigarette ends, with detection of the reflected light components to provide corresponding electrical signals, with threshold evaluation for detecting the boundaries between the adjacent cigarettes.
