The adaptive control has the process output y compared with that of a process model. The difference is used in a learning algorithm and this provides an access to a fuzzy logic controller coupled to the process. This allows the parameters to be varied to suit the process condition The learning process is subdivided into a number of part stages that allow the learning time to be reduced.
