Insert for composite casting

The insert consists of an aluminium material and is provided for recasting or joining by casting with a molten mass of aluminium or of an aluminium alloy for forming a composite casting with a metal link in the composite boundary layer. At least the layer which is free from oxide of the insert on which recasting or joining by casting of the molten mass is performed has a first coat having a surface coat of a metal or metal alloy which is resistant to oxidation and a second coat applied directly on this first coat of a metal or metal alloy having a high solubility in aluminium in the solid state and a melting temperature of between 350 and 500 DEG C.
