A method for printing an image on a substrate by image-wise depositing, toner particles on said substrate, is disclosed, comprising the steps of : image-wise depositing dry toner particles on said substrate forming a first band-like portion of said image, conditioning said first band-like portion while keeping said substrate at a temperature equal to or lower than 100 DEG C and further image-wise depositing toner particles on said substrate so as to form at least one other band-like portion of said image, said at least one other band-like portion of said image being adjacent to said first band-like portion.
