Film transporting device and a control method thereof

A film transporting device operates according to shutter operation state. The device comprises a shutter operation sensor (30) for sensing a shutter operation state and a controller (40) for determining whether the shutter operates according to a signal generated by the shutter operation sensor after outputting a signal to operate the shutter. The device further comprises a film transport unit (50) and the controller outputs a control signal to the film transport unit only when the shutter operated properly. On receipt of this signal, the film transport unit performs a film transport operation. The device and method in accordance with the present invention prevent waste of film by inhibiting transportation of film when a shutter does not operate properly upon photographing. The user is thereby informed of the shutter operation status.
