PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling unit that heightens the safety of occupant protection at the time of a vehicle collision. SOLUTION: An evaporator 3 for cooling air-conditioning air is arranged inclining in resin cases 1, 2 so as to be oblique to the longitudinal direction of a vehicle. At the time of a vehicle collision, the evaporator 3 can be rotated onto the front side of the vehicle by impact force applied to the cases 1, 2 from the rear side of the vehicle. Accordingly, even though an occupant moves onto the front side of the vehicle to collide with the cases 1, 2 at the time of the vehicle collision, impact force to a human body can be reduced by the rotation of the evaporator 3 onto the front side of the vehicle, and an influence on the human body can be stopped to a minimum so as to heighten the safety of the occupant at the time of the collision.
