FIELD: sorbents. SUBSTANCE: adsorbent applicable in chemical industry and hydrometallurgy is prepared by activation of carbon-containing material, namely brown- coal semicoke prepared by thermocontact coking technique in fluidized bed under gas-vapor atmosphere in two steps. The first step is conducted at 450-500 C for 50-60 min and the second one at 580-730 C for 120-150 min. Gas-vapor atmosphere is composed of 30-45 wt % of water vapor and 55-75 wt % of gases.
