Disclosed is an automatic conversion method for audio and video line jack of VCR including a first and second steps. The first step is to analyze a signal input or output through the input and output line jacks. The second step is to set both the audio and the video as input terminals when an A/V line signal is input and it is record state, and to set both the audio and the video as output terminals when the other states if it is both a line mode and an electrical to electrical mode. Thus, it is easy to use and the size of the printed circuit board is reduced.
