Controlled heating regime applied to single-chamber coking ovens

This invention provides a novel heating regime for single chamber coking ovens. The top-charged oven is pushed horizontally, and includes side walls, top, base and a pair of oven doors. The side walls include a thermally-insulated side clamping system. The new departure, is that before formation of the tar seal, heat supplied through the heating flue is restricted.
