A switch assembly comprises a lower case (28) coupled to an upper case (2) Knobs (4-8) are pivotally supported on the upper case 2 and have rods (4c, 5c, 6c, 7c, 8a) which project downwardly and engage actuating shafts (16a, 19a, 22a, 25a and 26a) of switch contact sections (16, 19, 22, 25,26). The lower case 28 is provided with positioning portions (28c, 28d, 28e, 28f, 28g) for positioning the switch contact sections (16, 19, 22, 25 and 26). The switch contact sections are mounted on the bottom face of a substrate (10) received in the box defined by the upper and lower cases (2,28).
