Use of oxazolidinon derivatives as antipenetrant agents in a cosmetic and/or dermatologic composition

The use of at least one oxazolidinone of formula (I) in a cosmetic or dermatological composition to decrease or prevent the penetration of active material(s) that is compatible with the skin, hair, and/or mucous membranes, is new. The use of (I) in a composition to prevent or diminish irritation or sensitisation from an active material having this secondary effect is also claimed. R1 = 6-27C optionally unsaturated hydroxyalkyl; R2 = H, or 1-7C optionally unsaturated alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; Y, X, different = NR3 or O; and R3 = H, or 1-8C optionally unsaturated alkyl or hydroxyalkyl.
