摘要 A tenter frame caliper has a clamping arm (4) with a holding strip (8) to press a tensioned material strip (1) against the lower face of a plate (2) on the caliper body (3). The clamping lever arm (4) rotates on an axle (7) with one or more radial cut-away sections (15). A spring-loaded ball (13) is located in a bore (12) in the caliper arm (4) and presses on the surface (16) of the cut-out section (15). The centre line fo the bore (12) intersects the centre line of the axle (7). An angle greater than 90 deg. is formed between the surface (16) of the cut-out and the spring (14) centre line when the lever arm (4) is in the closed position. Pref. the base (16) of the cut-out (15) is pref. at 95-100 deg to the spring (14) centre line in the closed position. At least two cut-out sections (15) are preferred along the axle (7) length. A second radial cut-out (17) forms an angle of 75-80 deg. with the first cut-out (15). Spring (14) tension is adjustable. USE/ADVANTAGE - For holding a material strip under tension during transport. The caliper arm moves into the closed position against gravity using an inexpensive and trouble free mechanism.
