A bicycle rim brake has a rubber spring element (11) arranged between the base (7) of the brake and the swivelling lever (1), as well as a bearing bush (8, 9) having two parts. The swivelling lever is mounted in the radial direction on both parts of the bearing bush. In the rest position of the swivelling lever, there is a clearance between the stopping faces of the swivelling lever and complementary stopping faces of both parts of the bearing bush. During the braking process, one stopping face (1e, 1f) of the swivelling lever comes to bear on a complementary stopping face (8e, 9f) of one of the bearing bush parts. In this way the brake can be on the one hand easily actuated, whereas on the other hand vibrations can be effectively suppressed during the braking process.
