<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a new derivative useful as a preventive and a therapeutic agent for leukopenia in treatment of cancer, etc., hemogenesis promoter, immunostimulant, etc., having high leucocyte increasing action, comprising a 2-amino-6,7-dihydroxy-4-thiaheptanoic acid derivative. CONSTITUTION:A new 2-amino-6,7-dihydroxy-4-thiaheptanoic acid derivative of formula I [R<1> and R<2> are H, an aliphatic acyl; A is a (protected) amino group; X is an amino acid sequence comprising 1-10 amino acid residues containing at least one amino acid residue having a group to raise water solubility] [e.g. (2R,6R)-2-amino-6,7-bis-(hexadecanoyloxy)-4-thiaheptanoyl-glycyl- glutamyl-glutamic acid]. The compound is obtained by deprotecting a compound (salt) of formula II [X' is a (protected) derivative of the X; R<3> is a protecting group)], has an excellent leukocyte-increasing action and is useful as a preventive and a therapeutic agent for leukopenia in treatment of cancer, etc., hemogenesis promoter in bone marrow transplantation, immunostimulant, etc.</p> |
