<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic brush developing method by using a developer which consists of two components and prevents the toner particle from increasing unnecessary amt. of the electrifying charge, so that fog or edge effect in low bias voltage is prevented and moreover, fluidity of the developer can be improved. SOLUTION: A toner image corresponding to an electrostatic image is formed by sliding the surface of a photosensitive body having the electrostatic image with a magnetic brush comprising a mixture of a spherical ferrite carrier and a nonmagnetic toner having an electrostatic change characteristic. In this developing method, development is carried out under the condition that the toner density of the mixture satisfys the equation, Ct=K.Sc/(St+Sc)×100, where Sc is the specific surface (cm<2> /g) of the carrier measured by a transmission method, St is the specific surface (cm<2> g) of the toner calculated from the average particle size, and K ranges from 0.8 to 1.07.</p> |
