PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a high quality tire by automating remarkably a manufacturing process to reduce a manufacturing cost in a manufacturing method for a tire of a type having a side wall. SOLUTION: A tubular release element is inserted around a carcass ply 3 at respective end parts of an assembly drum 12. A side wall 11 is wound around on the element 11. Another tubular elements 17, 18 are fitted to the side wall and turned round, and the side wall 11 is expanded at an opening position arranged along the assembly drum 12. A cylindrical-sleeve-formed carcass at a first step having an open side wall 11 is conveyed to a second step molding drum 12, and formed, in an anchor ring-like manner, to the separately manufactured assembly equipped with a belt pack and tread band. Then, both ends of the band are bent on the anchor ring-like carcass, and the side wall 11 is folded above the carcass. |
