PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the constantly high cleaning effect of a liquid-jet surface and liquid jet stabilized over a long period by regulating a water holding percent age to the maximum water holding quantity immediately before wiping of a part which wipes the liquid-jet surface of a liquid-jet head, hardness, etc., to be optimum. SOLUTION: A blade part 200 is installed on the transport part from a capping part 100, and a blade 201 for wiping the discharge surface 108 of a recording head 21 is installed. The water holding percentage K of the blade 201 immediately before wiping to the maximum water holding quantity is required to satisfy a formula: K(%)=X/Wmax×100, X=Wx-W, Wmax=Wm-W (K is a water holding percentage, X is the water holding quantity of the whole wiping member immediately before wiping, Wmax is the maximum water holding quantity of the whole wiping member immediately before wiping, W is the dry quantity of the whole wiping member including a wiping part, Wx is the mass of the whole wiping member immediately before wiping, and Wm is the maximum mass of the whole wiping member when it holds water in a shape of wiping). |
