PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a pixel data process by reducing an overhead generated at the data type conversion in a computing process of pixel data. SOLUTION: The computer is equipped with a register 1 which stores data to be processed, a memory 5 which stores the data of the register 1, an address calculation part 4 which specifies the address of an 8-bit area on the memory 5, and a decoder 2 which specifies a 16-bit area on the register 1 and stores 8-bit data of effective digits on the register 1 in the memory 5 by executing an instruction for store instruction. A conversion part 3 interprets the data on the register 1 as a signed integer and the data on the memory 5 as an unsigned integer, and converts an 8-bit unsigned integer into a representable minimum or maximum value and stores it as mentioned above unless the 8-bit unsigned integer is within a representation range. |
