PURPOSE: To obtain a composition containing a specific laminar silicate and an amide group-having resin, free from any bond such as an ionic bond between them and having a tensile modulus of elasticity which is improved without deteriorating stretchability. CONSTITUTION: This is a resin composition capable of being peeled by a single layer and/or by several layers, having an average laminar distance of >=40Åand composed of a laminar silicate and an amide group-containing resin. The laminar silicate has been treated by an organic modification with an organic surface-treating agent consisting of a quaternary ammonium compound of formula I (R<1> to R<4> are each an alkyl, an aryl or an alkylaryl free from a polar group such as an amide, an ester, an amine, OH, a carboxyl, etc.; the total number of the carbons of the four substituents is >=24) or a tertiary ammonium compound of formula II (R<5> to R<7> are each an alkyl, an aryl or an alkylaryl having no polar group and the total number of the carbons of the three substituents is >=24). In this composition, none of an ionic bond, a covalent bond, a hydrogen bond, etc., is observed between these compounds.
