Semi rigid protection casing for medical use

This novel protective case is especially suitable for a valve used under antiseptic conditions and forming part of e.g. medical instruments or controls. Its two shells (1-2) are linked and articulated by a hinge (3). The novel feature is construction in thermoformed, semi-rigid plastic. The shells have a click-fastening to hold them together. This has a hollowed tongue section (15) on the side (6) of one shell, which co-operates with a curved section (14) carried on a projection (13) extending from a conical recess (26) on the side (6) of the other shell. Preferably the case is thermoformed from a single piece of material. It has the flexibility, rigidity and elasticity of a crystalline polyvinyl chloride, with largely constant thickness of about 0.2-1 mm.
