摘要 <p>A cold crucible melting furnace (30) including a plurality of segments comprising a side wall (31) and a plurality of bottom portions (34) having at its lower portion a plurality of radially and outwardly extending flanges, in which each of the segments forming the crucible (30) at the upper part of the portion is connected with adjacent segments to form a short circuited portion under which portion radial thickness is rendered the same, and the bottom portion (34) is inserted under the lower part of each segment by keeping short overlapped portions (L) and specified gap (g), whereby the magnetic flux generated by the induction heating coils are enabled to pass through each slit and passing through between the lower part of each segment and the lower part of the bottom member, and its magnetic flux density is increased adjacent to the lower part of each segment. According to the present invention, there are achieved the advantages that the electric magnetic force is increased by increasing the magnetic flux at the crucible bottom, the path of thermal conductivity is shut off from the molten metal by making two adjacent portions, that is, the molten metal and the side wall of the crucible in non-contact condition, the electric power to maintain the molten state may be reduced by effectively utilizing the induction heating power, and the amount of skull may be decreased by increasing the melting power efficiency. &lt;IMAGE&gt; &lt;IMAGE&gt;</p>
