The defrost control method of a refrigerator comprises the steps of: accumulating and computing an operation time of a compressor to compare the computed time with a defrost entering time; if the defrost entering time elapses, sensing whether the temperature within the refrigerator sufficiently reaches the defrost entering time; if it is sensed that the temperature does not reach the defrost entering time, forcibly operating the compressor to reduce the temperature within the refrigerator; if the temperature sufficiently reach the defrost entering time, sensing whether the doors of refrigerating chamber and freezing chamber are open; and if the doors are all closed, performing a defrost operation.
