A process for producing a glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite material prepreg comprises the steps of: preparing polypropylene sheets having a melt index of 8g/10min; laminating a glass fiber web formed uniformly and non-directionally, a glass fiber arranged one-directionally, and a glass fiber arranged at the right angle, followed by needle-punching the laminated materials to make a glass fiber mat; laminating a polypropylene sheet, a glass fiber mat, molten polypropylene, a glass fiber mat and a polypropylene in turn, followed by a conventional way to produce said prepreg which is excellent in mechanical properties with a direction as well as has improved physical properties with its right angle.
