DESALTING METHOD BY ELECTRODIALYSER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a process in which not only the recovery percentage of desalted water is increased remarkably by avoiding scale troubles but also the performance of electrodialysis itself is improved by enlarging limiting current density. SOLUTION: In a desalting method, raw water excluding seawater is desalted by supplying it to an electrodialyser in which a cation exchange membrane C and an anion exchange membrane A are arranged alternately between electrodes 38, 40 to form a desalting chamber 24 and a concentration chamber 34 alternately. In this process, the raw water is passed through only the desalting chamber 24, and seawater or saline water is passed through the concentration chamber.
