PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of reducing kneading loads of a rubber compound for covering an electric wire capable of relieving loads applied on a secondary kneading machine and performing a maintenance of facilities in the secondary kneading work of rubber material of a high crystal property being an electric wire covering material. SOLUTION: When kneading an electric compound for an electric wire, secondary kneading of a rubber compound is implemented by carrying out primary kneading by a primary kneader 2 without adding a cross-linking agent into a rubber compound for forming a primary sheet-like article 3, making notches in the primary article to then be stored, and putting the primary article 3 and a cross-linking agent 5 into the kneader 4 immediately before being used for an extruder. For forming notches in the rubber sheet-like primary article 3, slit-like notches can be made by rotating blades of a rotary device. |
