The double flywheel consists of two coaxial rotary weights (1,2) connected to driving and driven shafts with the second weight forming a reaction plate of a friction clutch. The two weights are connected by a ball bearing (5) with at least one of its rings (8, 9) welded to the adjacent weight, e.g. to the transverse surface of a collar on the weight which projects axially towards the bearing. The two bearing rings are welded to the central sections of the first and second weights respectively, and in a variant of the design the second weight can be in two sections - an outer section forming the clutch reaction plate, and an inner one forming a hub. In addition, the flywheel incorporates radial elastic dampers between the two weights. |
