To fold stockings and women's hosiery, for packaging, the stockings (52) are brought to the support card (56) where they will be folded round it, to be clamped by the lower belt (42). The stockings (52) are stretched at the card (56), and the lower belt (42) moves the card (56) and stockings (52) to the next belts (48,50). Also claimed is an appts. with a clamp to secure the stockings (52) to the lower belt (42), and a tensioner to stretch the stockings (52) at the packaging card (56).
