The adapter for busbars has a housing (1) for contact rails (3 to 5) and clamping straps to fasten the housing opposite the busbars. The housing has recesses for fasteners near its end sides. The contact rails have end sections located near the fasteners that contain openings aligned with the fasteners for the insertion of contact elements. The fasteners are nuts and the contact elements are sleeves or bolts. If the former, one end is threaded to mate with the nuts and a bolt also passes through the middle, mating with an internal thread on the sleeve. Near at least one end side of the housing are three recesses, preferably cylindrical.
