The method uses a damping device, preferably a damping spring arrangement, coupling member arrangement or similar, via which the primary side (12) and the secondary side (14) are coupled for common rotation around a rotary axis (A) and for relative rotation in relation to each other. A first assembly group (12,16,22) is prepared, incorporating the primary side. A second assembly group (24) is prepared, incorporating at least a part of the secondary side. The first assembly group is then balanced. The first and second assembly groups are then assembled together to form the twin-mass flywheel (10). The combined structural unit (10) is then balanced on the secondary side. An Independent claim is included for an twin-mass flywheel.
