PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate an operation of supplying a plate upon a request sent from a plate storing area to a plate manufacturing engine, by positioning a plurality of plate stacks in response to an input command, and disposing a plate-size stack (necessary for picture formation) on access position. SOLUTION: A plurality of plates 26 are stacked on each cassette 24 which is in turn loaded onto a handler 18 by an operator. The handler 18, in accordance with an operation softwear, receives a command from a picture formation engine 20, to determine which cassette 24 is necessary to access in order to render a plate 26 to be usable on picker 28. Then, a plurality of plate stacks stored in parallel with one another, are automatically placed in positions in response to an input command. Afterwards, a single plate is automatically separated and removed from the plate stack, so as to be moved to the picture image formation engine 20. |
