A container which is comprised of a laminate comprising a layer (I) containing a cyclic olefin-based thermoplastic resin and a layer (II) containing a cyclic olefin-based thermoplastic resin, wherein the cyclic olefin-based thermoplastic resin has a recurring unit (A) having an alicyclic structure in an amount of 30 wt.% or more wherein the recurring unit (A) having an alicyclic structure has a recurring unit (A-1) having an alicyclic structure other than a norbornane structure in an amount of 10 wt.% or more. The present invention allows the production of a container which has a large size together with a relatively light weight, excellent mechanical strength and exhibits reduced elution, and therefore can be suitably used for storing and transporting, for example, a liquid chemical for use in production of a semiconductor.
