PHOSPHINOTHRICIN RESISTANT GENE ACTIVE IN PLANT AND USE OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resistance gene coding for a protein having a specific amino acid sequence, having decreased content of guanine (G) and cytosine (C) and being suitable for use in plant allowing the gene to be resistant to phosphinothricyl-alanyl-alanine. SOLUTION: This resistance gene codes for the protein having the amino acid sequence of the formula and is constructed to have a decreased content of G and C allowing the gene to be suitable for using in plant. The resistance gene is obtained by culturing a host cell containing a vector which is a combination of two or more fragments I to IV of the gene of the formula, and contains an acetyltransferase activator.
