PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new monocotyledonous plant cell containing a gene, etc., obtained by linking a resistant gene coding for a protein having a specific amino acid sequence with a regulating and expressing signal active in a plant, and having a phosphinothricin resistance. SOLUTION: This new monocotyledonous plant cell contains a gene consisting of (A) a resistant gene coding for a protein having an amino acid sequence expressed by formula I and treated so as to become suitable for a use in a plant by reducing G+C content therein, (B) a resistant gene described in the (A) and containing a DNA base sequence I (nucleotide number 9-554) expressed by formula II or (C) a gene having a DNA base sequence expressed by formula III linked with a regulating and expressing signal active in the plant, and is useful for the production of the monocotyledonous plant having a phosphinothricin resistance. The plant cell is obtained by integrating the genes (A) to (C) into the cells of the monocotyledonous plant and expressing under the regulation of plant regulating gene signal. |
