发明名称 CONNECTOR HUB APPARATUS FOR CATHETER AND METHODS OF USE
摘要 A hub assembly is provided for accommodating a medical professional to grip and manipulate two components of a catheter hub and move one component longitudinally relative to the other, then removably engaging the two components of the catheter hub to restrict movement there between. The two catheter hub components include a proximal hub and a distal hub. The proximal hub and the distal hub are configured to removably engage with one another. The proximal hub is affixed to a first catheter member, such as a multi-lumen catheter, while the distal hub is affixed to a second catheter member, such as a sheath. The first catheter member and the second catheter member are cooperatively engaged and concentric with one another. Relative movement of the proximal and distal hubs translates into relative movement of the first and second catheter members.

主权项 1. A catheter hub apparatus comprising: a. a distal hub member coupled to a proximal end of a catheter sheath having a sheath lumen, the distal hub member comprising a body member having an inner body lumen passing through the body member, the inner body lumen of the body member being in communication with the sheath lumen and at least one proximal hub engagement member comprising a resilient arm member projecting proximally from the body member; b. a proximal hub member fixedly coupled to a proximal end of a catheter, the catheter being disposed and reciprocally movable within the sheath lumen, the proximal hub member comprising a housing having an inner chamber having a distal opening configured to accept the at least one proximal hub engagement member therein, and a catch opening formed through an outer wall of the proximal hub member configured to allow the at least one proximal hub engagement member to engage therein, thereby fixedly engaging the distal hub member with the proximal hub member; c. a core member coupled to the proximal hub member and within the inner chamber thereof, the core member comprising a generally tubular member having a central core lumen, wherein the proximal end of the catheter is coupled in fluid flow communication with the central core lumen; d. a seal disposed within the distal hub member and positioned to receive the core member when the proximal hub member and distal hub member are in engagement; and e. a hemostasis valve disposed within the distal hub member distal to the seal, the hemostasis valve being positioned to accept the catheter passing there through.
