In an apparatus on a carding machine for detecting unwanted particles, in particular waste bits, neps, seed husks, burls and the like in the textile fibre material, for example, cotton, synthetic fibres and similar materials, a measuring section is provided between the stripper roller (6) and nip rollers (7,8) for the fibre material. A camera (18) is arranged at the measuring section to record the degree of contamination and the apparatus includes an illuminating device (19) and an image processing unit (30). In order further to improve such an apparatus for detecting unwanted particles and the elevation of the measurement results, the camera (18) is associated with the card web (16) in transition between the stripper roller (6) and nip rollers (7,8), or between the nip rollers (7,8) and the sliver forming device (9). |
