PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means which can remove discoloration substances contam inating haptoglobin (HP). SOLUTION: This means comprises the treatment of the HP-containing solution with a cationic ion exchanger. The HP concentration in the solution is, for example, 0.1-10w/v%. The cationic ion exchanger is not particularly limited as long as it is made of an insoluble carrier bearing cationic ion exchange groups. The cationic ion-exchange group is, for example, carboxyl, carboxylalkyl such as carboxylmethyl (CM), sulfo, sulfoalkyl such as sulfopropyl (SP) or phosphoric acid group or the like. |
