PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for looking at the display at every time of KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion and to improve the efficiency of key input operations by selecting aurally the meanings of conversion candidate KANJI such as homonyms, etc., after converting these meanings into voices. SOLUTION: The conversion candidate KANJI of the word or phrase corresponding to the phonetic KANA that is inputted via an input part 1 are read out of a conversion KANJI retrieval data base 10 by a conversion treatment device 2. Then the retrieved candidate KANJI are outputted as signals to a display device 3 from a KANA/KANJI conversion means 12 and shown on a screen. At the same time, the meanings of those candidate KANJI are read out via a conversion KANJI meaning data base 11, converted into the voices by a voice conversion means 13 and outputted via a speaker 4. |
