FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of direct production of particles of sponge iron and liquid iron from lumpy iron ore includes supply of iron ore to reactor of direct reduction, reduction of iron ore with high-temperature reducing gases into sponge iron and subsequent melting in reducing atmosphere formed by introduced carbon-containing material and blown oxygen-containing gas. At least, one part of reducing gas after cooling to temperature adequate for reduction is introduced into reactor reduction zone. Main part of carbon-containing material is used in form of mixture of coal, synthetic material, oil coke, and coal coke, for instance, coke fines. Reducing gases, at least, partially are produced by cracking of synthetic material and thermal gasifying of coal and oil cokes. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 8 cln
