The electrode material has a chemical composition which contains at least one lanthanide cation or a mixture of rare earth cations, at least one trivalent transition metal and at least one trivalent or bivalent redox-stable cation. The trivalent transition metal is pref. provided by an element or a mixture of elements with a reduced catalytic activity, pref. selected from the group comprising Mn, Cr, Co, Fe, Ti, and Ni.
