PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal continuously variable transmission possible to set a caster angle exceeding a current limit and facilitated in manufacturing of a case and installation of a carriage. SOLUTION: The carriage 7 is arranged in the direction crossing the shaft direction of each disk 2 and 3. The carriage 7 itself has a function for tilting the center axis 8 of the rotation of a roller 4 on a virtual plane crossing the predetermined caster angle direction.
