According to the disclosed method for coating the internal face of metal building components (10), involving the gaseous phase precipitation of a coating material, the conditions required for the coating process in the hollow space or spaces (12) of the building component where the internal face (14) is to be coated are created by changing the air composition and/or pressure. Moreover, a gaseous atmosphere or vacuum conditions are created; in that case, the building component (10) is placed in a vacuum chamber (26) prior to coating.
