Power supply switching method for electrical equipment plug

The method involves evaluating an infrared signal (14) which is received by an infrared receiver (6) using a microprocessor (12). The infrared signal is transmitted from an infrared remote controller (9) by actuating one of the keys and stored in a corresponding code. A following received signal is evaluated by the microprocessor and checked if the signal corresponds to the stored code. When the code corresponds to the signal a switching unit (11) is closed when open and opened when closed. The switching unit connects a plug with the mains voltage.
