<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image quality deterioration due to attenuation at high frequencies of output analog signal without providing an exclusive correction circuit. SOLUTION: In the case of the reproduction mode, data Y(fs2) relating to a fs2 rate reproduced by a recording reproducing section 7 and a CB/CR (fs2) are fed to rate conversion circuits 50Y, 50C of a digital arithmetic section 5, the frequency band is limited by a half band filter, rate conversion is processed to obtain data Y(2fs1), CR(fs21), CB(fs1) relating to the fs1 rate. The data Y(2fs1), CR(fs21), CB(fs1) are converted into analog data by a D/A converter section 61 of a signal processing section 6 to obtain an output analog video signal. The characteristic of the half band filter of the rate conversion circuits 50X, 50Y is set to correct the high frequency attenuation by the aperture in the D/A converter section 61. Thus, the frequency characteristic of the output analog video signal is made nearly equal to the frequency characteristic of the digital video data outputted from a recording reproduction section 7.</p> |
