Procedure for obtaining an improved product for extinguishing fires in forests, and the resultant product, in which 5% to 25% of plant cellulose, 5% to 25% of tuber flour, 3% to 15% of dextrin, 3% to 15% of calcium carbonate, in the form of a roasted shellfish shell meal, 2% to 20% of manure and 5% to 65% of bones from burnt remains are put into a container with 10% to 65% of heated vegetable gelatin, while stirring; the heat is removed when a homogeneous mixture is obtained. When it starts to solidify again, the liquids containing vegetable trace elements are added until the necessary fluidity is achieved in the mixture for extinguishing fires, by asphyxia, with addition of nutrients to the soil affected by the fire which is extinguished and in accordance with the form in which it is to be launched at the fire. Finally the product in fluid form is subjected to appropriate sterilizing action based on a product of animal or vegetable origin.
