PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a deslccant capable of being safely used in a living room or a plate-rack and emitting aroma by adding a water absorbable polymer, anhydrous sodium sulfate and a substance emitting aroma. SOLUTION: A desiccant contains a water absorbable polymer, anhydrous sodium sulfate and a substance emitting aroma. The water absorbable polymer has steam absorbing capacity of 650g/kg or more when it is allowed to stand for 30 days under a condition with a temp. of 30 deg.C and relative atmospheric humidity of 80% and a graft polymer obtained by grafting acrylonitrile or acrylic acid to hydrolyzed starch is used. Further, in order to contain an aroma component, sodium sulfate is used as a carrier absorbing aroma without reducing the the absorption of moisture by the polymer and an aroma substance such as lavender or the like is supported on the carrier. By this method, the desiccant containing the aroma substance and absorbing moisture is obtained. |
