Image processing method for detecting defects on surface of object

The method involves arranging a TV camera (1) at a rolling direction to vary the mutual positional relationship of the camera, a light source (2), and a detected object (3). The continuous observation of the reflecting component of the object is made possible. The brightness of object is then measured continuously to vary the illumination incidence angle. An image showing the distribution of the incidence angles is then obtained by deriving the illumination incidence angle with the maximum brightness in each measuring point of the object.
