Sliding-vane-type rotary pump

The pump comprises a rotor which works inside a cam ring forming suction and pressure areas, and contains radial slots (30) extending for its full width and in which the vanes (32) slide. Lateral fixed faces form sealed joints with the rotor and the vane edges. One at least of the lateral faces contains a groove open to bottom vane-chambers. The other face contains a bottom-vane oval chamber at the suction side and connected to the pressure side, so that dependent on the rotor position the chamber is connected to the groove via the bottom vane-chambers. One or more bottom-vane oval chambers are provided on the pressure side in the second lateral face. The total cross-sectional area of the bottom-vane chambers (44) at the bottom oval chambers (42) remains constant during a revolution of the rotor (18). The bottom oval chambers can extend through an angle of 58-71 deg , and the machine can have ten vanes. The oval chambers and the groove section opposite can be symmetrically situated round the axis of rotation.
