A spinning ring is a rotor (1), having a traveller (2) or yarn guide, with a hydrodynamic mounting. Sliding shoes (5) are fitted equidistantly round the rotor (1) circumference, radially on the side towards the mounting housing (4), to form a wedge gap at the facing surfaces to taper between the rotor (1) and mounting housing (4).
